Open Call: DramaEtMusica Performance Series

DramaEtMusica is an interdisciplinary performance series based in New York City. We are currently accepting submissions for both completed works that have been previously performed and works-in-progress that are near completion and ready for performance.

​

We welcome proposals from composers, sound artists, choreographers, and interdisciplinary creators working at the intersection of sound and other media. Eligible works must incorporate live performance and may include, but are not limited to:​

New Music Theatre
Video + Live Sound
Interactive Sound Installation
Choreographed Performance with Live Music
Live Electronics / Mixed Media Performance
Other interdisciplinary works exploring sound in innovative ways

How to Apply

Submission Period Opens: February 25, 2025
Deadline: March 15, 2025

Performance Details

​

Location: The DiMenna Center for Classical Music, Manhattan, New York
Performance Date: May 23, 2025
Duration: Each work must be 20 minutes or less
Available Performers: Up to 4 musicians provided by Chaospace

 

Support & Requirements

​

Artist Honorarium: Selected works will receive a $300 honorarium for artistic contribution.

Participation Requirement:

​​

• Artists must be present in New York on May 23, 2025, for the performance and participate in the final rehearsal.

• If the work involves complex interdisciplinary elements (e.g., choreography, movement-based performance, live electronics with Max/MSP or SuperCollider), the creator must participate in 2-3 rehearsal sessions.
